US Solar Can Learn from Ontario (Go Canada!)

March 25, 2009

Welcome back, dedicated reader! Thanks for visiting.

Ontario, yes, that large province in Canada where many Canadians live, is leading the movement towards regulated Feed-in-Tariffs. Sweet!  FiTs spark investment in solar energy because the consumer gains the ability to sell  the excess power generated by their solar panel installation back into the grid.  Money!  More money means greater demand for more solar panel installations.  Greater demand leads to a greater opportunity for Money to be Made by educated installers.  Who don’t exactly exist yet.  Which means jobs will go to trained, solar installing, licensed, Canadian gentlemen.  Tada!  A working green collar work force that will go out to meet the demand generated by the government proclamation- Feed-in-Tariff.  Say it with me.  Feed-in-Tariff.

It’s entirely possible that the new Ontario Power Authority FiTs will create a demand for 100,000 installations.  If a single installer does, let’s say 100 (which is a lot), how many installers could make money in this instantaneously generated economy?   It could be you.

Hunting for a new career?  Learn something about the solar industry and you might be in luck.  Push for change.

We should look to our brilliant, Northern neighbours for good, money making ideas to copy. (Go Canada!)

Wondering where to go to learn about solar design?
