I wasn’t sure that solar could get more interesting than it is already but – Solar in Space? This is too good to be true. My Star Trek watching grandmother is even excited. The stunningly visionary company in the state of California, Solaren, is considering sending solar panels into space so that solar energy interuping issues, like clouds, won’t effect energy production. Transmition is another issue but is supposidly already very mature: “For over 45 years, satellites have collected solar energy in Earth orbit via solar cells, and converted it to radio frequency energy for transmissions to Earth receive stations,” said Gary Spirnak, Solaren CEO.
