Welcome back, dedicated reader! Thanks for visiting.
Western wanderers drive vast distances to arrive at the promised land of Los Angeles. People fly for hours, cross oceans and all go for a gander of the famed Hollywood sign- one of the greatest symbols of the American Dream that we have in the US.
Did you know that back in the day, people with breathing problems were sent to Los Angeles for the clean California air? That thought makes me laugh now. The sky is yellow.
Woah! Simmer down! I realize that the sky is better than it was in the 70s! But, I mean, it’s still yellow.
Where better to stimulate the solar revolution than the most polluted city in the US? Where better to show America’s dedication to pulling itself out of recession and showing off its commitment to renewable energy, green industry and the future of our children than by taking the most recognizable symbol of the American Dream and dressing it up in Green?
I don’t claim credit for this absolutely brilliant idea. Entrepreneurial games master Mike Bonifer of Los Angeles has spearheaded the call to solar power the Hollywood sign. With efforts to train Los Angeles in solar energy ideals, he’s run meetings, collected signatures, identified the enemy of green progress (he has a name and is clearly identifiable) and he’s still trudging through the political mess to make this idea become a reality. Press on Mike! Northern California supports your efforts, goals and vision!
