Solyndra & Solar Manufacturing Saves the Town

September 11, 2009

Welcome back, dedicated reader! Thanks for visiting.

Congratulations goes out to our neighbours, Solyndra, for creating a solar product that attracted the discerning eye of our Energy Secretary Stephen Chu.  He was just here in Fremont, Solar Capital of America, for the groundbreaking on the new Solyndra manufacturing plant opening, in part, thanks to a government backed grant.

Another Fremont news flash, the NUMMI auto manufacturing plant is closing.  There were strike last week.  People acted in an attempt to draw attention to the 5,000+++++ jobs that would be lost with the closing of the GM/Toyota joint venture.  But to no avail.   Detroit isn’t making cars (they’re made in Ontario) and auto product lines are being sold off to other manufacturers at such a rate that where as I used to say in passing, well, we’re not making cars anymore and shrug my sholders; America- heads up- we’re seriously not making cars anymore.

THERE IS HOPE!  Solyndra is opening a second manufacturing plant next door to Boots on the Roof Professional Solar Training.  Unemployed auto workers might be able to find a new working home in their very same neighbourhood due to the expansion of manufacturing in the solar industry happening RIGHT NOW.  Today.  Construction.  Next Door.  Fremont, Solar Capital of America.  We’re not makeing cars anymore.  Thank goodness we’re making solar panels.

Now if we can just help government put out correct paperwork, filter the correct processes and methodologies down to the appropriate agencies so that construction savvy individuals can walk in or call and actually find out the info they need to wrap up the details of a deal in a timely maner, we’re into some serious solar business!

Study up, get to it.  It’s definitely coming.
