At Boots on the Roof, you will learn from the nation's largest and most talented team of Solar Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal and Wind Energy trainers. Passionate, articulate, energetic and just plain fun, this dream team is the reason why Boots is the #1 renewable energy training company in the nation. These trainers truly care about YOU and your goals, and are driven to help you achieve them.
All of our trainers have bios that would fill a book, but here is a little teaser about them.
(Note that we mention initials instead of names to protect the privacy of our trainers and keep away unwelcome, pesky recruiters)
C.R. has been involved in technical adult education for over 15 years, with extensive experience designing education programs for the high-tech industry. He has co-founded, and co-managed, a curricula design firm serving high-tech firms in Silicon Valley. He has long been interested in conserving our natural resources, and making a positive contribution to the community. He created Boots on the Roof to address the inter-connected issues of teaching renewable energy skills to building professionals, and accelerating the adoption of renewable energy on buildings, which increases our energy independence. When he's not at Boots on the Roof, you may find him with his wife and grown sons, enjoying our National Parks.
T.B.'s aptitude for both electronics and education has been clear since his service with the US Navy. For the last 20 years he has served as a high-technology trainer in some of Silicon Valley's most prominent companies, most recently at Sun Microsystems. T.B.'s passion for making the world a greener place brought him to Boots on the Roof, where he has helped us grow into the world-class training organization we are today. Students appreciate his engaging teaching style, and his skill at leading groups of people from varied backgrounds to really learn the finer points in each class. When he is not teaching our class, you might see him riding his Harley down the back roads of Northern California– always in an environmentally responsible way, of course!
M.C. has been selling and installing Solar electric systems on the Jersey Shore for over a decade, and he uses that real-world experience to animate his presentations. He is also a NABCEP certified PV installer, and has been for five years. Students appreciate his experience, his great stories, and the upbeat energy of his classes - it is all part of his "Jersey perspective" on solar energy. He is the lead instructor for our Solar Electric Boot Camps in New Jersey, which usually sell out well in advance, and teaches our Wind boot camp course as well.
K.K. started working in solar energy decades ago, designing and selling both Solar Electric and Solar Thermal systems, for both residential and commercial customers. He brings his wealth of experience into every class. Not only does he excel at explaining the technologies, but students also appreciate how he conveys his knowledge of how to sell solar systems. He teaches both the Solar Electric Boot Camp and the Solar Thermal Boot Camp. When he is not teaching, you might find this man of many talents with his wife, attending, or even producing, plays for the stage.
D.S. has been designing, installing, and servicing solar energy systems since 1975. He has guest lectured at colleges and universities across the US and the Caribbean. When not teaching, he is a design and project consultant for solar thermal and photovoltaic implementations. D.S. is a NABCEP Certified professional solar trainer.
